HEERENVEEN, Netherlands (April 28) – In a shareholders meeting, Dutch Accell Group announced that the first three months of 2004 have surpassed the same period of 2003. Excellent dealer sales have boosted the company's results. The newly bought Tunturi of Finland has already been profitable and contributed to the group's success. Also, the take-over of Juncker, the Dutch parts-wholesaler has been formally completed. Blemish on the good news, is that the Germany market is still lagging behind the rest, next to of course the €12.809.000 fine Accell got some days ago from the Dutch Competition Authority (see the news pages on this website).
According to René Takens, CEO of the Accell Group, the new models have been received very favourably by dealers as well as end-users. He also pointed out that the combination bikes and fitness equipment already shows big promises for the future. (MH)
