It is called Supero Hybrid Xtra. It is the new tyre Cheng Shin (CST) developed for the use on electric bikes. To handle the increased demands on e-bike tyres related to higher speeds and higher weights, the Supero Hybrid Xtra has a reinforced carcass with one extra layer while the rubber compound of this tyre is more suited to heavy duty usage.
The Supero Hybrid Xtra is one of a series of 3 new CST Supero tyres. The other two are called Supero Fiber and Supero Sumo. The Supero Fiber is what CST calls the ultimate tyre for city bikes, while the Supero 5mm offers the best protection against punctures.
All three Supero tyres are made at CST Taiwan and offer the best quality, stipulated by CST Europe. A company spokesman says that with these tyres they intend to take on Schwalbe on the European aftermarket.
