APELDOORN, the Netherlands – Accell’s subsidiary and Europe’s biggest e-Bike producer Sparta is expanding the production of its popular ION RX e-Bikes (photo) as well as its latest model, the Sparta E-Motion (photo).
“We are expanding our production thanks to the ever-growing interest for our ION bikes and the successful introduction of the E-motion. After the winter period, sales of electric bicycles are back on track,” says commercial director Mark Kuper.
“Demand for electric bikes is huge as we now see that the Sparta promotion campaign, including TV and radio advertising, is bearing fruit. In addition, we find that there are now some 500,000 e-Bikes riding around in the Netherlands which is stimulating sales as more people are now familiar with the e-Bike phenomenon.”
Next to the continued high level sales of Sparta’s ION e-Bikes, also the newcomer E-motion exceeds his expectations. Kuper says: “The E-motion in January for the first show and delivered a huge success in the price range under € 2,000. With the stepped up production for the holiday period we will be able to deliver additional electric bikes.”
