’s HEERENBERG, The Netherlands – It was one of the last big bike brands that sticked to its core value in sports bikes. However, with e-bikes becoming mainstream in two major European markets – Germany and The Netherlands – also Specialized is now changing its position against e-bikes. End of March the company will launch the Specialized electric bike at a press presentation in Spain.
High ambitions with e-bikes
The news on the Specialized e-bike comes not totally unexpected. Last year this trade journal reported on the E-Projekt that was started at the new Swiss based marketing & design HQ for Specialized. And that the company has high ambitions with e-bikes, is reflected by the fact that it is looking for a Global Engineer who will be responsible for all the Specialized e-bikes.
