VICENZA, Italy – Go compact or standard? How many times do your customers ask themselves this question before purchasing a bicycle? Campagnolo provides the answer in its 2013 range with the new crank set with 36/52 chainrings which, used in conjunction with one of the 5 sprocket options, represents the choice for both long, straight and fast roads and more challenging uphill climbs.
The new 52/36 cranksets have been developed for all 11 speed Campagnolo sets: Super Record, Record, Chorus and carbon Athena version. All groups are available with cranks in the different lengths between 165 and 175.
These components boast class-beating lightness: 663 gram for the Athena Carbon, 690 gram for the Chorus, 40 gram less for the Record and just 607 gram for the Super Record. The 52/36 Super Record and Record cranksets are compatible with the Campagnolo EPS electronic drivetrain.
For those who prefer more transmission options in the front Campagnolo created the triple crankset for Athena, Centaur and Veloce. Campagnolo has also developed light weight hollow aluminum cranks. The front derailleur has been completely redesigned, while the rear derailleur - which is now also available with a long rocker - is the same as used with the standard 10 and 11 speed version.
