Along with some carbon 29-er frames and its CAT4 carbon road race frame that offers ‘the perfect balance between performance and price’ in a 1,000 gram frame, Asahi Ent. Corp from Tainan City, Taiwan used the Shanghai Show to highlight its new Six Sigma painting services.
Six Sigma is a quality standard system seeking to improve the quality of process outputs by identifying and removing the causes of defects (errors) and minimizing the percentage of defect-free products it creates. A six sigma process is one in which 99.99966% of the products manufactured are statistically expected to be free of defects (3.4 defects per million).
For reaching this quality level Asahi offers hand spray painting in a no-dust environment. This means that the company’s painting house is only accessible through an air-vent facility that blows all dust from the visitor who is also required to wear protective material on his shoes.
