FRANKFURT, Germany (18 January 2000) -- Europe's first industry show for the bicycle sector, BikeOn, scheduled for this year, was postponed in December. The premiere will now take place in 2001. That the show will become reality is without question, according to recent statements made by the organizer, Messe Frankfurt This conviction is not only based on the positive responses they have received to the BikeOn concept, but also on the fact that this purely industry-oriented show will save a great many companies money.
Annette Ziemer, who was appointed project director of new exhibitions, including BikeOn, at Frankfurter Messe, doesn't turn a blind eye to the negative reactions that followed the announcement that the Frankfurter Messe was postponing the show for a year.
"Explaining the concept behind BikeOn turned out to be more time-consuming then we expected," says Ziemer. "As Europe's largest trade fair organizer, the Frankfurter Messe has a global network of representatives. They will approach people from all the bike companies in all corners of the world personally to explain the underlying concept of the BikeOn Show. And, of course, the BikeOn team will do the same."
The first step in the organization's plan to increase communication with the industry will take place at the end of February when Ziemer tours the Far East. BikeOn will be held between 27 February and 2 March 2001 in Frankfurt, Germany. (JO)
