Germany's Biggest Bike Chain Store Hires Former Kettler GM

HAMBURG, Germany - Bike & Outdoor Company GmbH & Co. KG (B.O.C. in short) - Germany’s leading bike chain store - hired Stephan Geiger, the former GM of bike maker Kettler. Geiger will be leading B.O.C. together with Bernd Heumann as new GM duo.

Since former longtime B.O.C. general manager Thorsten Kochanek left the Hamburg-based chain store in the last months of 2011 the company was searching for a successor. Now two managers are taking over Kochanek’s job. Stephan Geiger comes from Heinz Kettler GmbH & Co. KG where he worked as GM of the bicycle and e-bike division since 2007. Bernd Heumann comes from eyewear expert Fielmann AG. Since 1994 he worked for the stock listed company as sales manager.

Reponsibilities
Geiger will be responsible for B.O.C.’s sourcing and marketing while Heumann for sales and the online business of the chain store. Moreover Heumann will act as spokesman of the B.O.C. Group.

32 outlets and a webshop
Both Geiger and Heumann will officially start in Hamburg on 1. September 2012. At the moment B.O.C. claims to be ‘Germany’s biggest IBD’ operating 32 outlets and a webshop. The Bike & Outdoor Company GmbH & Co. KG is owned by Vibro, the investment company of the in Germany well known Viehof family.
