WARSAW, Poland – A group of e-bike suppliers took the opportunity to present themselves during the stop over of the 2nd Electric Vehicle Rally Tallinn – Monte Carlo which took place in Warsaw, Poland beginning this month.
The company Ekonapedy, Polish for Ecodrives, showed a whole series of electric motors and wheels which can be installed in the bicycles and other vehicles, as scooters and trolleys. Ergodrive, based in Siedlce, presented three semi-recumbent bicycles and a little folding bike.
The company co-operating with Ergodrive, Green Eco Trade, presented a 12-inch mini folding bike. With a front wheel motor and battery pack on the rear triangle, the bike is still compact and not heavy. The folding bike of Green Eco Trade can be folded to a small package of 60 x 26 x 80cm.
Flagships
Apart from those oddities, Giant Polska presented its two flagship e-bikes, the Escape and the Twist which offer electric components that are hardly recognizeable for non-specialists. Impact SAM is the name of a company that showed an electric threewheeled vehicle manufactured in Pruszkow, Poland by order of the Swiss company Cree. Impact is using scooter technology. The motor is integrated with the swing arm as in regular scooters like Vespa.
Polish bicycle companies
It was not clear, why other Polish cycle companies did not show up at this event. Both Kross and Arkus have e-bikes in their product range. The show especially should concern Arkus (Romet-Arkus Group), who has been working on Romet 4E, small electric minicar since 2010. The Romet 4E could be licensed as a light vehicle and in the future even as a moped.
The 2nd Electric Vehicle Rally Tallinn – Monte Carlo started on June 1st at the front of the Estonian National Opera in Tallinn. On its 3,300 km long stretch the vehicles passed through 10 countries while local shows focusing on e-mobility are organized on stop overs.
