Vredestein 2013 Innovations

Vredestein will highlight a wider size of the Fortezza TriComp range and no less than four MTB tires in size 650b at this year’s Eurobike. For recreational cyclists, the tire brand’s 2013 range offers Vredestein’s first-ever all-season tire: The Perfect 4 Seasons.

As frames and rims become increasingly stiff, the only way left to enhance comfort, even for professionals, is to develop better tires. With the arrival of the slightly wider Fortezza TriComp, 25 mm instead of the usual 23 mm, Vredestein aims to provide demanding cyclists with a solution.

650b: The best of both worlds
Last year Vredestein introduced a new 29er line-up. In order to offer people who are too small for 29er mountain bikes the benefits of a larger tire diameter, Vredestein’s 2013 range now includes four products in size 650b (27.5-inch). This old French size offers the best of both worlds between the standard sizes 26- inch and 29ers. As of 2013, size 650b will be available in the versions Spotted Cat, Black Panther, Black Panther xtrac and Black Panther xtreme.

Based on the successful introduction of its 29ers in 2012, Vredestein’s 2013 range will also include the Black Panther xtrac in 650b, both in Tube Type and in Tubeless Ready formats. The Desert Wolf will also be available as a rigid 29er as of 2013.

Four seasons of perfect grip
While an increasing number of car drivers choose winter tires during the colder, wetter months, cyclists seem to prefer a single tire type to use throughout the year. The Vredestein Perfect 4 Seasons makes it possible. Based on Vredestein’s experience with all-season car tyres, the new tire with AWS compound offers excellent grip in all conditions.

The tread of the Perfect 4 Seasons was designed to ensure excellent performance even in winter conditions. The outer row of knobs, with a special sipe structure, provides extra grip. The spacing, which is set at increasing intervals between the knobs toward the outside of the tire, offers superior mud-shedding capacity and helps the tyre to move effortlessly through snow and slush.

Punctures are one of the greatest annoyances to cyclists. The Perfect xtreme with a double anti-puncture system is Vredestein’s ultimate solution to this common problem. In 2013, the size range of the successful tire, previously only available in 37-622, will be widened with size 47-559.
