PADOVA, Italy – The preparations for the upcoming 2012 edition of the Italian ExpoBici are in full swing. All-new is the ExpoBici Test Day taking place on Friday, September 21. It offers the opportunity to test all the novelties of the cycling world in the nearby Euganean Hills Regional Park. ExpoBici takes place from 22 to 24 September.
In a statement the ExpoBici organizers say that last year’s event confirmed the show’s role as ‘THE exhibition’ of the cycling sector in Italy. The participation of the top Italian and foreign brands brought the number of exhibitors to 500. A record number of 42,000 visitors, of who 10,000 registered professionals flooded the exhibition halls during the three-day event.
Confirmation of participation
“In light of these results, confirmation of participation in the 2012 edition has been pouring in since October 2011. Companies want to obtain the most of their participation at ExpoBici, planning it well in advance in order to ensure themselves a good position”, comments the Director of PadovaFiere Paolo Coin. “This is an indication of how ExpoBici meets the promotional needs of the sector, by bringing a key, large-scale exhibition event back to Italy.”
In their ambition to grow, the organization announced new activities and more side events to enrich the fifth edition of the show. On Friday September 21 the first edition of the ExpoBici Test Day is about to place. Visitors will get the opportunity to pedal round the Euganean Hills Regional Park: an area surrounded by stunning scenery offering ideal conditions for testing all types of bicycles – from mountain bikes to road models. Cycling enthusiast as well as retailers and journalists will have the opportunity to venture out on short routes or more challenging trips, exploring the complex network of bike paths, getting a hands-on taste of the latest novelties of the cycling industry.
Another novelty of the upcoming edition will be the new section called the ‘Virtual ExpoBici’. Companies will be able to promote their key products throughout the year and not only on show days. The virtual exhibitors’ products will be promoted through marketing activities on the social networks, creating direct contact with the user who, upon completing a contact form, will be able to request news and technical information. Visitors will be able to get a glimpse in advance of the products they will find at the exhibition, in order to plan their visit to the show. At the same time, the exhibiting companies will have an additional promotional and business tool at their disposal to further ensure the results of their participation at ExpoBici.
