MUNICH, Germany – To strengthen its market position, the ISPO Bike show launches a Demo Day event in conjunction with the bicycle trade show at the Munich fair ground. The Demo Day will take place in Samerberg, located some 80 kilometers south of Munich.
After last year’s edition of the Bike Expo, Messe Munich decided to change the name of this relatively young event into ISPO Bike, “The popularity of the bicycle trade show is ultimately due to its integration in the ISPO family”, said Klaus Dittrich, Chairman of the Board of Management of Messe München GmbH.
Part of international network
“By positioning our event as the ‘ISPO’s Bicycle Trade Show and Expo’, ISPO Bike has become part of the international network with over 40 years of experience. This is producing future synergies and opportunities which will directly benefit all exhibitors”.
ISPO Bike is supported by the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI), which will have a presence for the first time. Robbert de Kock, General Secretary, explained this step: “The World Federation is a longstanding partner of ISPO which, with Munich, has a good venue, an excellent infrastructure and a team which ideally supports our members and brands with creative marketing and sales solutions”.
ISPO Bike will continue to focus on the growth topics of electromobility and urban mobility. The action hall will contain an authentic environment to present the mountainbike, BMX and dirt bike segments in an ideal light. ISPO Bike will be held at the Munich Trade Fair Centre from 16 to 19 August 2012. The ISPO Bike Demo Day will take place one day earlier, on August 15.
