DAYTON, OH/USA– (8 February 2000)– HUFFY CORPORATION has signed a Licensing Agreement with Disney Enterprises, Inc. to market X-Games Bicycles. The X-Games line will be represented with youth, BMX, freestyle and full suspension all-terrain mountain bikes, according to a recent release.

“X-Games is the ultimate alternative sports event. Not just another sports program, X-Games brand captures the culture, the attitude and the adrenaline rush that speaks to both the doers and the viewers of these aggressive sports,” said William A. Smith, Huffy Bicycle Company Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

In addition, Huffy will be launching ‘Rotate’, a new all aluminum scooter to capitalize on this rapidly emerging trend which is projected to see a 50% increase in industry shipments in 2000.

The new X-Games line will be unveiled to the sporting goods industry on 10 February 2000 at The Super Show in Atlanta, GA., one of the world’s largest trade shows. X-Games models are expected to be available to consumers in the late spring. (JW)
