VALKENSWAARD, Netherlands – Veltec-Rentmeester has acquired Pariba racing tires. Per september the Dutch wholesalers have taken on the worldwide distribution of the Dutch tire brand. Pariba started in 1980 making race tires in a market wholly dominated by tubulars. After a couple of world championships on the track, the most delicate test for tubes and tires, Pariba took a convincing share in racing, to such extent that others started making tires as well. After the decease of Siemes, Vredestein tires bought Pariba for its knowhow and as a strategic measure. Now that Vredestein outsources its own production of bicycle tires, Pariba was sold to Veltec, who will start respositioning the brand in the high-end racing bicycle market.
