INNSBRUCK, Austria – American Xtracycle is opening a European subsidiary whose headquarters will be located in Innsbruck Austria. Xtracycle wants this step to, as company co-founder Ross Evans called it, “Make us a global company that would have a positive impact on every corner of the planet. We want to introduce our high cargo capacity bicycle product as a novel and practical transportation option in Europe “. Xtracycle’s sports utility bicycles (Sub) are made in Taiwan and come with something the company calls a “Free Radical” attachment that according to the company is capable of hauling upto 100 kg of cargo. The company wants to attract urbanities and adventurers with Sub which is able to carry six bags of groceries or something a long like surfboard or kayak. Xtracycle-European Director, Ben Sarrazin has been with the young company since summer 2000 and says he will work closely with the company’s US headquarters in Nevada City CA. (JB)
