HERZOGENAURACH, Germany (march 8) – Adidas-Salomon Group’s latest fiscal year report 2000 (ending December 31) is mentioning a two-digit-sales increase of its bicycle component brand daughter Mavic. According to the report Mavic’s net sales jumped, compared with the previous year, 25% up to a total of EUR 55 million (US$51 mn). The good result of Mavic is explained with “further integration of Mavic with Salomon, which began in 2000”. Adidas-Salomon points on continuing this integration “with further synergies between the two brands”. While Mavic’s net sales were pointed out there were no details about the bicycle brand’s profit and net income available. Adidas-Salomon is also selling bikewear and cycling shoes under the Adidas brand name.(JB)
