OSAKA, Japan (7 March) – Shimano Incorporated has reported its year end sales figures. The group reports 2000 total sales of JPY 134.5 billion (US$1,188.mn;EUR1,281mn). OSAKA, Japan (7 March) – Shimano Incorporated has reported its year end sales figures. The group reports 2000 total sales of JPY 134.5 billion (US$1,188.mn;EUR1,281mn). Total net profit after tax was JPY 10.7 billion (US$94.46mn;EUR101.9mn). Total Japanese sales were JPY 123 billion (US$1,085.5;EUR1,171mn). This total is divided up by export bike component sales representing a 63% share with domestic sales at 10%. Other sales activities including fishing equipment made up the remaining 26%. Total net after tax profit was JPY 6.billion (US$53.9mn;EUR58.1mn). A comparison with the results of previous years was not possible due to different reporting time frames. (RvL)
