SAN PAULO, Brazil (April 10) – Latin America’s largest Bike show will be held on November 20 to 25, 2001 in San Paulo Brazil at the Anhembi park exhibition hall. The show is aimed at distributors, wholesalers and shopkeepers from Brazil. Consumers are also welcomed at this Show. The 1999 show attracted 25,000 visitors and the organizers of this year’s event are hoping for 30,000. 1999 also saw 12 countries participate in a show area of 140,500 m²; representatives from 15 countries are expected and the show area will increase by 20% to 170,000 square meters. The organizers can be contacted via email: sa@dmgwm.com.br. The Brazilian two-wheel industry is a US$ 2.4 billion (Eur 2.6bn) per year market that has shown continuous growth. In 2000 4,590,000 units were manufactured and US$ 30.8 million (Eur 33.1mn) worth of bicycles, parts and components were imported. (OB)
