ZWOLLE, Netherlands (May 9) -Browning Components is expanding its range of SmartShift Technology electronic shifters. In addition to the SST400 (4-speed) there’s now also a 12-speed version available. It’s similar to the SST400, only with a 3-speed sprocket at the front (4-speed cassette rear). The frontsprocket is based on the same principal, that is: with the split sprocket. With the introduction of the 12-speed, a wider range of customers can be reached, Was the 4-speed especially designed for riding pleasure in city and rather flat counties, the 12-speed is also more usable in hilly areas. The SST1200 will be available at the end of July / beginning of August 2001. Already, several manufacturers are testing the SST1200, with good results so far. (JO)
