MANCHESTER, UK (December 11) – Concept Cycling, the Manchester-based bicycle manufacturer, did well during the past season. After record sales in 2000, the production was increased last year with the acquisition of a new 10.000 m2 production hall and a third assembly line. During the year, a fourth line was added, and 2001 sales were exactly up to the planning, in spite of bad weather, foot & mouth disease and all those reasons why others sold less. The Mancunians took 12% more orders for 2002. With the recent acquisition of Crabtrees, Concept aims to be ‘one of the top tree’ bicycle suppliers in the UK. (OB)
