EASTWOOD, UK – Raleigh is to buy a new warehouse and office complex for GBP 3 million (€ 5 million) at Eastwood, just 16 kms northwest from its longtime headquarters on Triumph Road, Nottingham. Raleigh chairman Philip Darnton confirmed, that the relocation of a 168,300 m2 warehouse building with office accommodations has been sealed. Owner Raleigh Cycle Ltd. will support this decision. The new 54 hectares site will be operational from January 2003 with 110 employees in marketing, sales, distribution, product, sourcing and engineering fields. Its new warehouse will be used for imported bikes. Its other division Raleigh Parts and Accessories will remain operating from the current site. With this, Raleigh will a period of 2.5 years of uncertainty and soldier on as a major bike brand. (FN)
