BOXMEER, Netherlands (July 16) – Rigida has sold its subsidiary Radaelli (motorcycle rims) to SRl Metallica in Salerno (It.). After growth in the late ‘nineties to become the largest rim manufacturer worldwide, the Rigida holding is now carefully trimming down its activities to bicycle rims and wheelsets. A year ago, Belgian Alesa rims, part of the Rigida holding went bankrupt and made a restart (with German rim maker Schürmann as a business partner) under the name Exal. Rigida Group currently operates rim factories in The Netherlands, UK, France (the Rigida factory in Noyon was successfully reorganized), Mexico, Malaysia and two in China (Kunshan and Shenzhen).(OB)
