NUNSPEET, Netherlands (September 29) – For the fourth year Shimano is sponsoring the Cycling Concept Award, a pan European contest for the most innovative bike mobility related idea. Whether the idea is hard-core mountain bike related or promotes bikes used for commuting: equal chances for all. One condition is that the project has to be carried out within 12 months of the price-winning. Shimano will sponsor the winner with €12.500 Euro to be spent on the project. The jury, as in the previous versions, will be made up of three journalists: Jack Oortwijn (Bike Europe, www.bike-eu.com), Carlton Reid (Bicycle Business, www.bikebiz.com) and Michael Bollschweiller (Radmarkt, www.radmarkt.de) and Frank Peiffer of Shimano Europe. The winner will be picked in February 2004, entries must be sent-in before December 31st 2003.
