ROME, Italy (October 9th) – Kymco, the Taiwanese manufacturer of motorized 2-wheelers is growing strongly on the Italian market. According to Cheng Hsien-Cheng, vice president of the companies’ operations in Rome, they now have a 7-8% market share in the Italian market which has a total volume of about 600.000 units per year.Some 300 direct and 150 indirect points of sale are established in Italy in cooperation with the Italian firm of Padana Ricambi SPA. The current range comprises more than 30 models: for the moment the sub-150cc models are most popular but Kymco is preparing to break ground with its 750cc plus models. (MH)
