GILROY, US (October 1) – It seems the final curtain has fallen (again) for Indian Motorcycles. Almost tragicomedy, the new start of the company has been stymied yet again. The fourth official attempt (not counting the ‘badge engineering’ ones…) to bring the old Indian to live again has failed too. Production has halted in the factory in California and almost all of the 380-strong staff have been laid off. A skeleton crew will take care of matters pending. Indian motorcycles is controlled by the Audax group.(MH)
