QUEBEC, Canada (October 15th) – In 2008 Quebec celebrates its 400th birthday: something special should be done…To start the Tour the France from the French speaking part of Canada could just be the thing…. Tour de France director Jean-Marie Leblanc understands the significance of celebrating the 400th birthday together with his fellow-French speakers from across the ocean, but that same ocean is the big issue. The TdF caravan consist of over 4000 people and some 1600 vehicles – to get this ‘circus’ across the big pond and back…The logistics will surely cause some nightmares! The Mayor of Quebec, Mr Jean-Paul L’Allier has good hope though and will spend 2004 and part of 2005 researching the possibilities.(MH) source:AP via Florida Times
