MAARSSEN, Netherlands (May 12) – The reality in deliveries is already quite harsh. Leadtimes are getting longer and longer, and the real season is just starting. It seems that again parts supply problems are at the bottom of all this, and across the board of the different types. Not only MTB, but also road-bike-components are affected with delivery times that would grace a Rolls Royce…Also the problems seem to engulf the lower segments as well – midrange and under are now suffering the same problems as the hi-end had last year. 180 days is the usual leadtime Bike Europe got to hear when doing a quick inventory among it’s contacts – basically this means that bikes ordered now can be expected to arrive in February 2005…if all goes well that is!
