AUCH, France (June 8) – Specialized has been corrected by a French court for ‘terminating suddenly and abusively’ its relation with Ets. José Alvarez. Both companies had been in business together for many years, but now the difference have lead to an abrupt end. In an adversary and appealable ruling, the French court has ruled that Specialized pays € 500,000 to cover economic, financial & commercial loss to José Alvarez. A further € 20,000 for settlement of outstanding accounts and another €18,000 to cover civil proceedings.
One of the other demands is that a public announcement will have to appear in Velo Vert, VTT Magazine and Bike Europe. For the moment we have received no comments from Specialized on the matter, but we will keep you posted…(MH)
