OLDENBURG, Germany (August 24) – The deal is done: the Rabeneick Group, acquired bicycle wholesaler Epple Zweirad GmbH.
The deal was officially backdated to 1 August. General managers of Epple Zweirad GmbH are now Severine Lönne and Werner Forster, general managers of the Rabeneick Group (alias Fachhandelszentrum Oldenburg).
Longtime Epple general manager and industry veteran Manfred Neun will remain as consultant and will also represent the company within the association (Zweirad Groß- und Außenhandelsverband e.V., a wholesale association under the roof of the German two wheeler industry association ZIV).
The Rabeneick Group from Prophete owner Berthold Lönne, is based in Northern-Germany and focuses exclusively on IBD distribution. Rabeneick, the parent company of VSF Fahrradmanufaktur GmbH, Rabeneick GmbH, Kreidler Zweirad Vertriebs GmbH and Hansa Bike Parts GmbH, assured to leave Epple in Southern-Germany. The Rabeneick Group is responsible for the bicycle brands Bulltec, Kreidler and Rabeneick. Fahrradmanufaktur Epple Zweirad sells (aside several parts & accessory brands) the Epple and GT bicycle brands in Germany. (JB)
