WELLINGTON, NZ (January 6) – Kmart issues a recall for four types of children’s bikes because of faulty handlebars. They are 20 inch Hot Wheels and My Scene Girls bikes, and 16 inch Hot Wheels and Disney Princess bikes sold at Kmart in November and December last year.

Consumer Online says testing shows the bicycles have a faulty stem, which may result in their handlebars slipping.
It’s advising owners to return them to Kmart immediately for a full refund.

Since these bikes are branded items, they may be found in various outlets in other countries – for the moment it is not clear whether these bikes are affected by the same problem. (MH)
