EERSEL, Netherlands – (April 12) – The Dutch manufacturer of (electric) bicycles, tri-cycles and scooters for disabled people, Freewiel Techniek, has taken over the rights and stocks of Hoening Specialfahrzeuge GmbH. Due to the current economic malaise in Germany and a strong decline in sales, Hoening ceased its activities. Freewiel Techniek will continue the production of the Hoening special vehicles called Rollfiets and Co-Pilot in Kempen, Germany under the name Hoening Mobility GmbH. According to Freewiel Techniek MD Van Dooren both companies already worked together for over ten years on distribution and export. Freewiel Techniek and Hoening Mobility GmbH will produce over 2,000 electric two and three-wheeled vehicles for the disabled in 2005. (JO)
