JOURE, Netherlands (Jan 4) – End of December 2005 the Dutch company Spanninga International BV bought 100% of the shares of the Chinese joint-venture (a wholly owned foreign enterprise, WFOE) that belonged to the automotive parts supplier Hella KGaA Hueck & Co., and the American Reflector manufacturer Sate-Lite Mfg.Co.Ltd.
“Adding high-quality products developed with automotive know-how under the brand name Hella to our range is a big opportunity for the Spanninga Group”, says Feike Spanninga, President of the Spanninga Group.
Spanninga, already a well-known supplier for European bicycle producers, will now become a major supplier to the European aftermarket as well.

Spanninga International BV is taking over 100% of the production joint venture in Shunde, including Sate-Lite Mfg.Co.Ltd shares, and will be allowed to use the “Hella” trademark for bike lighting for two years. Also, the distribution activities of Hella Bike Europe GmbH in Nellingen near Ulm have been taken over by the Ducth/French company. After two years, Spanninga will distribute the products under its own trademark.
