Maxcom from Bulgaria Invests 15 Million in New Facility

PLOVDIV, Bulgaria – Maxcom Ltd. is currently building a new facility in Bulgaria that next to 3 assembly lines and a paint shop with 4 electrostatic disks, also includes two warehouses for over 16,000 pallet positions. The company is investing € 15 million in the new facility that once opened mid 2007, will rank among most modern factories for bicycles in Europe.
Despite the fact that Maxcom at the start of the new millennium was still a small player on the European bike market; it has made a name for itself. That is also expressed in the growth of the company that is owned by Maxim Mitkov. In the years 2002 – 2006 the production increased from 38,000 units to 218,000 bikes. Maxcom is producing under its own ‘Sprint’ brand, but is for the biggest part producing bikes on an OEM basis. Maxcom started building its new facility in 2006. It’s a large-scale construction because the factory covers over 27,000 m². Once opened mid 2007 production capacity will reach 500,000 units annually.
