Raleigh Stepping into Uncharted Territory

NOTTINGHAM, UK – Raleigh is expanding its activities in the northern parts of Europe and into Russia through the Finnish mail order specialist Hobby Hall. The cooperation with Hobby Hall is also resulting in the fact that Raleigh is stepping into other uncharted territory; Fitness.

Since the early 1990’s Hobby Hall (HH) has been a leading bicycle seller in Finland and the Baltic countries, but it lacked a strong international brand in its bicycle business. As a consequence HH began to develop a co-operation with Raleigh.

Hobby Hall has more than 1.3 million customers in Finland, Estonia and Latvia. They use the website www.hobbyhall.fi as a fast and convenient way to buy quality product at affordable prices.

Raleigh and Hobby Hall
Because HH lacked a renowned bike brand, the mail order specialist began to develop a co-operation with Raleigh. This business has been profitable and growing from the very beginning. Customer feedback has been very positive. Before HH began making business with Raleigh only a few thousand Raleigh-bicycles were sold annually in Finland. Today HH has increased the Raleigh bicycles sales and made Raleigh a major brand in the Finnish bicycle market.

This success has stimulated the product manager of Hobby Hall, Sami Kiiski, and the sales agent of Scanimpex Oy, Tuncay Cetinelli, to extend the Raleigh name to become a fitness brand. They created a whole range of Raleigh Fitness products that are entirely suitable for the Hobby Hall market area. This market was formerly dominated by Kettler and Tunturi.
