Live UCI World Championships on Bike Europe

VAL DI SOLE, Italy – Cycling fans from around the globe can tune into Freecaster.tv this Saturday to catch live coverage of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup 4X and downhill event. Bike Europe will give you direct access to Freecaster.tv which will feature live and on-demand coverage of this event.

Specialized Bicycles will be the sponsor of what is already described as the best thing to happen to mountain bike racing in years by fans across the globe.

Difficult to attract sponsors

The Mountain Bike World Championships has been held annually for many years, but has always suffered from limited TV distribution. As a result it is very difficult to attract big sponsors outside the bicycle industry. Webcasting might be an important opportunity to attract these sponsors for the mountbike sport. The disciplines of Downhill (DH) and Four-cross (4X) particularly draw a young enthusiastic audience.

“Our affiliation with Freecaster.tv is a one of a kind opportunity for Specialized and a chance to show our passion for mountain biking”, said Mike Sinyard, president of Specialized Bicycles. “This dynamic partnering of cycling and technology showcases our brand and athletes, as well as the progression of the sport, in a unique way that is accessible to cycling fans all over the globe.”

Live coverage starts on Saturday, June 21 at 12:30 CET
DH: from 12:45
4X: from 19:00

Live commentary will be provided by World Cup winning mountain biker Rob Warner and his co-host Tim March, a three time European BMX Champion and winner of the Kelloggs BMX championships.
