At this years’ autumn show 3T will present its latest developments. Among them will be the DiffLock. This patented mechanism sets the saddle very precisely to within a half-degree of rotation and lock it down securely with no effect on saddle position.

“2008 has been a great year for us so far”, said 3T President and CEO René Wiertz. “We are introducing lots of new products with refreshing new ideas. It’s gratifying that our dropbars, stems, forks and TT bars have been on the bikes of Carlos Sastre while winning the Tour de France. We would like to thank the guys at Team CSC Saxo Bank for all their ideas and encouragement in our first season back in the pro peloton.”

The DiffLock mechanism is part of 3T’s new Palladio seat pillar range: the LTD, TEAM, and PRO. A big advantage of the DiffLock is that bolts don’t need to be torqued down hard to stabilize the saddle, even for a heavy rider on rough roads. In case the bolts get loose, the post can’t tip off the saddle.

The elimination of the high-torque bolts prevents excess torque causing stress and potential failures in thin-walled structures. A focus of the 3T new-product drive this year is to eliminate, or at least reduce, the requirement for fixings with high torque values.

At the same time 3T recognizes that accurate torque measurement is a major worry for mechanics. It’s now offering the Torque Wrench Team. This is a lightweight, cycle-specific tool that enables every bike enthusiast to carry out advanced adjustments and rebuilds safely and confidently.
