WTB Expands Saddle Range

WTB has expanded its offering in saddles. For 2009 the component supplier offers a range that includes three different line-ups: Vigo for Marathon, Cross Country, SST for Mountain & Road and Silverado (see photo) for Elite road and cross-country racing.

The Vigo line-up consists of full-bodied race saddles combined with an efficient, firm shell and a healthy amount of support in the tail and a well-padded nose. The Vigo combines many premier features with a full-bodied shape that can comfortably go the distance, as it provides multiple options for rider positioning.

The Vigo is popular with endurance athletes, especially those with wider sit-bones. Available in three levels and four models: Carbon SLT (Black and White), Team, and Pro SST for Mountain & Road comes in two levels: SST Team and SST Race. Team features titanium rails, black leather cover, Flex-Tuned shell, Comfort Zone, ABR corners, DNA memory padding and weighs 240g. SST Race has chromoly rails, black synthetic cover, Flex-Tuned shell, Comfort Zone, Kevlite Corners, DNA memory padding and weighs 335g.

WTB Silverado saddles feature smooth, elongated shapes that enables riders to utilize more of the nose while climbing, while the square profile distributes more weight onto the sit bones, allowing multiple riding positions. Its narrow shape fits racer anatomies with average-width sit bones, offering increased comfort with a stiff pedaling platform with built-in bump absorption.

The Silverado is the official saddle of two-time DH world champion Sam Hill of Team Iron Horse/Mad Catz and two-time DH World Champion Fabien Barel of Team Subaru-Mondraker. Available in three levels and four models.
