Marchetti’s New Concept for Wheelbuilding Line

Marchetti, the Italian machine specialist for the production of bicycles and motorcycles, has developed a new concept for its wheelbuilding line. That new concept is made suitable both for wheels of traditional bikes as well as e-Bikes. Marchetti’s automatic wheel assembly machines are suitable for small and big production capacities.

The ML 2001 XT – lacing and pretensioning machine with revised shape is made more compact. It is equipped with a patented system that allows assembly of double wall rims, without having the bothersome loss of nipples inside the rim. The ML 2001XT received new software that allows to assemble wheels according to the lacing patterns: 7×4 – 8×4 – 9×4 or the standard 2×2. Marchetti has also made its ML 113/SX9 4-headed wheel tensioning machine more compact and improved mechanical and electronic functions to allow the tensioning of wheels with lacing patterns 7×4 – 8×4 and 9×4.

Changing the tensioning torque is made simpler and can now be adjusted from the touch-screen panel. Production capacity of the ML 113/SX9 stands at about 120/150 wheels per hour. Marchetti’s automatic trueing robot, the ML 310/XPRO-TENS, got a complete technological overhaul. New software is installed while also this machine is made more compact. The new software allows the ML 310/XPRO-TENS to work together with a pretensioning  unit (like the ML 2001 XT) verifying electronically the tension on each spoke. This trueing robot can handle all spoke patterns and all wheels (including e-Bike wheels) currently on the market.
