Bob Burbank Cannondale’s New General Manager

BETHEL, USA – Cannondale Bicycles’ HQ (see photo) has announced a reorganization of its marketing and product management departments. As part of this decision Cannondale has hired Bob Burbank as General Manager as of February 15th. His aim will be to optimize brand growth, strategic planning and oversee the development of resources within category portfolios.

Before joining Cannondale Bob Burbank worked as Global Vice President with Burton Corporation. Cannondale has also appointed Frank Hwang as the new marketing director to set Cannondale’s marketing objectives and strategies.

As part of the total redesign, the Cannondale product management group will relocate from Basel, Switzerland to Bethel, USA. “The new product management structure will put more focus on our key product categories: Road, Mountain, Recreation/Urban and Women”, said Jeff McGuane, President of the Cycling Sports Group, parent company of Cannondale.

“The new structure will also include a global product director to oversee each major category and a global product manager responsible for the women’s category. Steve Metz will continue to lead the product management group in a Vice President role.”

“Bringing our product management and marketing teams under one roof allows us to think more holistically about the way we develop and market products,” said Jeff McGuane. “We are strengthening the team by developing our internal talent and adding complimentary knowledge and skills to the team. Our final goal is to become a more consumer-insight driven company.”
