PARIS, France – zActiva Capital, the French private equity company focused on taking over mid-sized French companies valued at € 20-200 million, acquired a controlling stake in Sport 2000 France. With this move, the investment firm also acquired a stake in Sport 2000 Italy.

Activa Capital already owned a 37.4% share of Sport 2000 France. Recently the investment firm got (with a 54% stake) control of the company that operates a network of 570 sports stores throughout France. Next to sporting goods also Mondovélo branded bikes (partly made by Accell Group’s Lapierre) are sold here.

According to a recent report in the sporting goods trade journal Sporting Good Intelligence (SGI), Sport 2000 France has acquired an about 10% share in Sport 2000 International, previously held by
Sport Alliance of Italy. The SGI report says that the move should allow the French company to speed up the development of the Sport 2000 banner at Sport Point Group, the Italian buying group with which it has a cooperation agreement.
