Spank Has a Bar for Every Budget

It’s a big year for handlebars at Spank. With partner Anvil Industries the company has debuted some new bars and optimized their existing line-up. Based upon their successful Spike 777 EVO bar, the company’s All Mountain/DH ‘alpine-style’ called the Sub Rosa 747 features new graphics, Super-6 alloy construction, and comes in 5, 15, and 30mm rise models, with a 747mm length and rise and rake of 4 degrees up and 8 degrees back.

The bar, designed for all-mountain, freeride and downhill riding, utilizes Spank’s Dual Extreme Gradual Taper Technology for ultimate strength to weight ratio and improved damping qualities, dynamically hardened ‘True’ clamping zones, and weighs 280 grams in its lightest configuration. The unique mixed finish improves clamping properties and fatigue life. The Sub Rosa comes in three colours: polished-peened Ti-Gray, Black, and Wet White.

The company is also boasting it has the lightest (208 grams) XXC/all mountain bar with the new Oozy Limited Edition ultra-light trail bar. Made with 7-series zirconium doped alloy construction, it features 5/15/30mm rises, up to700mm length and 4 degree up / 6 degree back – ‘Trail Tuned’ geometry. Made with CNC 3-D bending to eliminate heavy grinding during manufacture, the Oozy also has Spank’s extreme gradual taper, hardened clamping zones, and comes in polished anodized black or wet white colour options.

For riders on a budget, Spank has unveiled a more affordable line of downhill and freeride gear called Spoon. The Spoon 740 Bar features 6-Series alloy construction, 5/20/40mm rises, with 740mm length, and 5 degree up, 8.5 degree back design. The handlebar features continuous gradual taper technology for a unique blend of bombproof construction and damping ability. Available in Peened-Anodized Black, Red, Blue, and Ti-Gray, the Spoon 740 starts at 340 grams.
