Zooms 2012 Forks Boast Strength, Innovation,Versatility

Zoom’s forks for MY 2012 are designed with lateral stiffness and multiple applications in mind. The all new 105 Trekking is a 25mm travel fork with a new design made with one piece MG die casting. The 141 Trekking suspension fork offers a patented triple support (Teflon bearing & CRMO mandril) to prevent side play.

The HL dry-satin-finish (DSF) surface treatment to the stanchions is similar to Fox’s Kashima Coat technology improving durability and helping prevent rust. The 141 also has the full range of mounting holes for various accessories such as dynamo base, mud guards and front basket. Lock out and pre-load adjusters are also available. Crown pitch is 107mm to meet most city, trekking, and e-bike applications.

Zoom’s 2012 MTB suspension forks are the ZXR and the 650. The all new 1.92kg ZXR was designed using hi-technology MG die casting production procedure with a new brace layout and 120mm of travel for aggressive cross-country and all mountain riding. Stanchions are made from 6061 aluminum with HL anodized surface treatment. The crown pitch is 130mm. The ZXR also has remote control lock-out and air lock-out options. The fork also features newly designed Teflon bushing and grease seals for greater durability, and a new internal ‘gear-bite’ design for the lock-out function.

The 650 is built to withstand the hard knocks of professional downhill racing, with 140mm of travel and a 140mm crown pitch. In addition to Zoom’s new teflon bushings and greas seals, it has a hydraulic rebound option, redesigned disc brake cable guide, 20mm through axle and the HL surface treatment to maximize stanchion durability, as well as a high-end post mount design for the disc brake caliper. The Zoom 650 weighs in at 2.8kg.
