Derby Cycles Order Intake Goes Sky High

CLOPPENBURG, Germany – Derby Cycle’s mid August dealer show and Eurobike have been very successful for Germany’s biggest bicycle manufacturer. Driven by upbeat sales in the first eight months of this year and positive reports on electric bikes, German dealers have been eager to order model year 2012 bikes. As a result Derby Cycle reports that the current pre-order figure exceeds the previous year’s volume by 25%.

Usually, Derby Cycle AG publishes the pre-order volume for the coming bike season after completing its financial year on September 30. “However we anticipate that the final increase in pre-order volumes on September 30, 2011 will be approximately on par with the current level of 25%. That’s why we are already releasing now the first revenue forecast for the financial year 2011/12”, said Mathias Seidler, CEO of Derby Cycle AG.

Seidler continues: “In view of the positive pre-order development, we are currently anticipating a double-digit revenue growth year-on-year for our fiscal 2011/12 year. This development is primarily attributable to the strong demand among specialist retailers for electric bikes and sports bicycles carrying the Derby Cycle brands.”
