BRIGG, UK – The growing participation in leisure cycling in the UK made Falcon Cycles decide to concentrate on the brand Claud Butler and focus on the Independent Dealer sector.

Falcon Cycles Reorganizing
From January on Falcon’s existing trade with the bigger retailers, the retail chains and Mail Order accounts under the Falcon, Townsend, Boss, Elswick, British Eagle and Zombie brands will be transferred to the Falcon Cycles’ sister company, MV Sports in Castle Bromwich.

Falcon Cycles, a division of Tandem Group Cycles Ltd, will implement this new strategy as of January 2013. “To accommodate the changes we will be investing in upgrading our large Scunthorpe warehouse facilities”, said Falcon Cycles’ Managing Director Steven Bell. “Our current site in Brigg will be closed during the year.”

Transfer to sister company
From January on Falcon’s existing trade with the bigger retailers, the retail chains and Mail Order accounts under the Falcon, Townsend, Boss, Elswick, British Eagle and Zombie brands will be transferred to the Falcon Cycles’ sister company, MV Sports in Castle Bromwich.

“This change will benefit both organizations and our customers”, said Steven Bell. MV Sports already has a large turnover with the bigger retailers, the retail chains as well as Mail Order accounts and will integrate the existing Falcon ranges into its current large portfolio of licensed product in sports and outdoor play.”

Focus on IBD
“On the other hand the new Claud Butler organization will be able to completely focus on supporting the IBD business, developing the Claud Butler, CBR, Holdsworth and Scorpion brands and continue the sales growth of our new Claud Butler parts and accessories products.”

“We expect this change to be welcomed by our suppliers and customers alike, the new Claud Butler operation will work out of one site and be completely dedicated to developing its business in the IBD sector without the distraction that multiple distribution channel sales bring. To assist with the continued development of the new operation Dave Heath-Drury, Phil Haveron and Mark Johnson will become directors of the new Claud Butler business from 1st January 2013”, said Steven Bell.
