Healthcare Company Enters Bike Industry
DUDERSTADT, Germany – Otto Bock HealthCare, a specialty vendor of health care products, notably mobility solutions for physically disadvantaged customers, moves into the bike business.
The company’s new product range will concise of a collection of bikes to be presented at this year’s ISPO Bike in Munich. The line comprises hand bikes that are manually and/or electrically propelled, three-wheelers and pedelecs.
The company aims to transfer its long-standing experience in mobility solutions for disabled people, gained also through its technical support to participants in the Paralympic Games in London last year.
In its segment, Ottobock is a global player with distribution partners in 49 countries selling to 140 countries worldwide. For 2012, the company posted total sales of €666 million which were up by 14.2 percent compared with the previous year.
