Merida Expands Frame and E-bike Production
YUANLIN, Taiwan – To meet growing demand of e-bikes and other high end bicycles, stock listed Merida Industry is enlarging its facility in Taiwan.
The expansion of the Taiwan factory includes the construction of a new hall for the production of high end aluminium frames. The enlargement of the Merida factory will also include an all new assembly line.
Merida will use this expansion of its capacity for the production of e-bikes, which will include Shimano’s recently launched STEPS system, and other high end bicycles.
During the China Cycle Show taking place now in Shanghai, China, Merida also officially opened a new Chinese factory. It has an annual capacity of 2 million units making Merida the number two premium bike manufacturer in the world.
