Bickerton Premieres at Eurobike
FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany – Bickerton Portables, one of the kickstarters of the folding bike genre over 40 years ago, is exhibiting at Eurobike for the first time this year. Bickerton’s Eurobike presence signals an opportunity for distributors looking to meet the growing demand for portable bikes throughout Europe.
Combining heritage, modern style and technology, Bickerton bikes become a natural choice in one of the most dynamic cycling categories across Europe. Portable bikes are the smart solution, not just with commuters and flat dwellers, but also with owners of yachts, caravans, motor-homes and private planes.
Three new frame platforms
Building on an existing range of 20-inch and 26-inch bikes, three new frame platforms are being shown at Eurobike 2015, including the eminently portable 14-inch Scout, 16-inch Pilot, and 20-inch Comet, which has a Steel Cro-Mo frame. The bikes are priced to retail between 350 and 1,500 euro. Bickerton Portables come including a range of complementary accessories which will be on display as well.
Pioneer in technology
Founded in 1971 by Harry Bickerton, the original Bickerton pioneered many of the technologies which became essential design features for modern folding bicycles: the first aluminium folding bike, the first mono-tube folding frame, the offset bottom bracket, an extended seat post and importantly interlocking hinge abutments.
Bickerton Portables will be present at Eurobike Demo Day, stand DD113 and at the show in hall B4-303.
