DT Swiss Expands Production in Poland
BIEL, Switzerland – Swiss wheel and component manufacturer DT Swiss AG is strengthening its presence in Europe. The company has increased the production capacity of its Polish facility significantly. With this expansion DT Swiss is meeting the requirements of the bicycle industry in Europe with production closer to sales markets.
DT Swiss has added a new building to its facility in Poland which was founded in 2007. With the new building the covered production space almost doubled to some 12,000 m². The expansion also results in the creation of over 80 new jobs which brings the total number of employees to over 300 employees at DT Swiss Polska SP in Oborniki, which lies about in the middle between Berlin and Warsaw.
Keeping pace with growing demand
According to DT Swiss the production expansion in Poland was needed in order to keep pace with growing demand in its OE business as well as in the Aftermarket. Also at the new working places all DT Swiss wheels will be entirely hand built. With that the company wants to keep its focus on high-end products. Next to an increased production capacity, also the Service Center at the Polish facility has been expanded. Service and warranty work for the whole European market is carried out at DT Swiss Polska.
DT Swiss AG has since its founding in 1994 grown into a holding with six subsidiaries worldwide. It has established itself as a leading manufacturer of high-end hubs, spokes, nipples and system-wheels for road-, mountain- and e-bikes, as well as for suspension forks and shocks.
