With the opening of a subsidiary in Asia, Hebie wants to build in Asia on the company’s two essential strengths which are named as just-in-time delivery ability and service orientation. Starting in May, customers from of the entire Asian region will be served and supported by Hebie Asia.

‘Made in Germany’ Hebie products

Hebie emphasizes that as a nearly 150 year old parts maker it will continue to produce ‘Made in Germany’ products at its headquarter and factory in Bielefeld. With the new Taiwan subsidiary the company says, “We will have all our products in sufficient quantities on-site and deliver the best service within the shortest time to our Asian customers.”

General manager of Hebie Asia is Paul Lin. Lin has already been the Hebie contact person in Taiwan for four years. He and his team will serve Asian customers and their partners on-site and in all areas.

The only thing being produced at Hebie Asia in Changhua are the specific clips for the new childrens’ chain guard ‘Chainlooper’. Therefore special machinery was installed at Hebie Asia.

Ensure fast delivery

“With this step we can also ensure fast delivery to kid bike producers. Due to our on-site prefabrication we save our customers one work process,” according to Hebie.

The official opening of Hebie Asia was visited by many representatives from larger Taiwanese bicycle producers as well as many other industry participants. There is already a good amount of European parts makers in and around the Taichung area, home of the Taiwanese bicycle industry.

For Hebie the opening of a subsidiary close to producers is not only the right move but also “a milestone in the almost 150 years history of our company.”
