Taiwans Bike Exports to Top 5 Million Units

Bike exports from Taiwan are expected to top 5 million units for the whole of 2010. The total number up to November indicate that the total for the whole year is expected to break the 5 million mark.

TAIPEI, Taiwan – Bike exports from Taiwan are expected to top 5 million units for the whole of 2010. The total number up to November indicate that the total for the whole year is expected to break the 5 million mark.

These export number were recently revealed by Giant Global Group CEO and chairman of the Taiwan Bicycle Exporters Association (TBEA), Tony Lo. He pointed out that the total export value of Taiwan’s bicycles in 2010 could reach US$1.45 billion and the amount could grow 10% more in 2011.

Taiwan exported 4.64 million complete bicycles up to November, 2010 which grew 17.1% compared to the total up to the same month in 2009. The total export number for the whole of 2010 is expected to top 5 million bicycles with a value of US$1.344 billion; up 18.65% compared to the total value of 2009. The Taiwan Bicycle Exporters’ Association currently has 360 members.
